On arrival in Muscat you will be met by our representative on the ground, assisted through immigration and transferred to this stunning hotel (or to a different hotel of your choice). Here you will have time to rest after the flight. The next morning after breakfast your vehicle will be delivered to your hotel and you will be fully briefed on your route, your vehicle and the equipment. You will be shown where to food shop, plus now that you have your vehicle you can visit some of the local attractions in the area.
  • DAY 3 Wadi Dayqah Rough Camp

Today you can head south east towards Qurayyat and aim for Wadi Dayqh and Wadi As Suwayh. This spot has become increasingly popular, but it is still well worth a visit. Spend the afternoon in the pools, before setting up camp.
  • DAY 4 Tiwi Rough Camp

This morning head further south east towards Sur on quite a surprising road which veers through the remarkable mountain ranges. With many attractions on the way which you are at leisure to explore you can then find a nice spot on the coast to set up camp.
  • DAY 5 Ras al Jinz Scientific & Visitor Centre, Ras al Jinz

Today you will head to Sur, a lovely fishing village on the coast. This place is buzzing and it is fun to explore and perhaps eat lunch in a local restaurant. The nature reserve, located just outside of Sur, is fascinating and educational.
  • DAY 6 & 7 Nomadic Desert Camp, Wahiba Sands

This morning you will head inland to Wahiba Sands or Ramlat al-Wahiba, named after the Wahiba tribe. You will stay at the wonderful Nomadic Desert Camp, a small and genuine camp where you will eat wonderful meals and experience the beauty of this area. The Wahiba Sands area is occupied by Bedouins who congregate at Al Huyawah, an oasis near the border of the desert, between June and September to gather dates. By staying at Nomadic Desert Camp you could enjoy a camel ride during the day and hopefully a starry night sky as you enjoy your home-cooked dinner.
  • DAY 8 Falaj Daris Hotel, Nizwa

Once you have packed up your camping things you can head over to and explore Nizwa which has a great souk and an impressive fort which is well worth visiting. You stay just 3 kms from the centre of town in this recently refurbished and charming hotel.
  • DAY 9 & 10 Jebel Shams Resort, Jebel Shams

Today you will leave the desert and head north to Jebel Shams (Mountain of Sun) located in northeastern Oman north of Al Hamra town. It is the highest mountain in Oman and part of the Al Hajar mountain range. Here you will also find the so-called, ‘Grand Canyon of Arabia’ or the Wadi Ghul. The views up here are magnificent. Your first night will be in the resort and the second night will be in the campsite attached to the resort.
  • DAY 11 Al Jabal Akhdar Rough Camp, Jabal Akhdar Mountains

Today you set off for the amazing area which translates in English to The Green Mountain. It is one of Oman’s most spectacular areas. Another great area to go for a hike.
