This great 11-night itinerary (6 nights lodging & 5 nights camping) allows you to see parts of the Kalahari that many do not. It's a wonderful trip for those returning to Botswana on perhaps a second or third self-drive trip wanting to explore a different part of this diverse country.
Arrive in Maun where you will be met by a representative of Gray's Eden and transferred there. This lovely boutique hotel is a perfect place for your first night in Botswana. Here you will be fully briefed on your route, your vehicle and all its equipment.
Today you will make your way south of Maun to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve for your first night camping in the bush.
Today you will game drive across the Central Kalahari to Tau Pan Lodge, the first semi-permanent camp inside the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The camps offers incredible views from the elevated ridge of an ancient sand dune.
Another striking area of the Central Kalahari, enjoy one night here.
Perhaps the most famous of the campsites here - it's renowned for good cat sightings!
One of our favourite Botswana lodges, Meno A Kwena. The camp is set on a cliff high above the Boteti River on the edge of the Makgadikgadi National Park with a seasonal river bed below. This is a really authentic tented camp with excellent guiding - a wonderful place to spend two nights.
Today you make your way into Nxai Pan National Park. First stop - South Camp campsite.
Today you enjoy the day game driving. Tonight you camp near to some of Botswana largest and oldest baobab trees.
Today you return to Maun, for your final night in Botswana. Enjoy the evening reflecting on your adventure in the tranquility of Gray's Eden.
You will be transferred to the airport in good time for your international flight home.
