This is the opportunity to head from the southernmost tip of South Africa, from Cape Town, through constantly changing biomes across the country border and into Namibia. Arguably this is some of the most impressive scenery in Southern Africa. The trip encompasses the Cederberg Mountains and the stunning flower lands of the Western Cape, then as you head North into the arid Kalahari sands you will see desert adapted wildlife like the iconic Oryx. You continue through the dunes of Sossusvlei and finish your trip in Windhoek. The trips runs equally well in reverse and can be further tailored to suit you.
On arrival you will be met at Cape Town International Airport and transfered to the the Clarendon Bantry Bay. This sophisticated and sun-drenched luxury house is perched above the brilliant blue waters of the Atlantic and is only 8 kms from the city of Cape Town.
Today you will make your way into the Cederberg, a beautiful region found north of Cape Town. As you drive up through this stunning area, passing mountains and winelands you will reach a property called Mount Ceder.
Today you make your way to Naries a beautiful & romantic hideaway on the edge of the Spektakelberg between Springbok and Kleinzee.
Today you will drive into Richtersveld Transfrontier Park, a park know for it's stark scenery and 4x4 trails. If you like remote driving then you will love it here. Two nights recommended.
Today you will cross into Namibia and head to Klein Aus Vista, located a few minutes west of Aus on the main Luderitz road. The property is magnificent, situated amongst stunning rock kopjie. Here you can go on the walking (or cycling) trails and perhaps (try to) visit the wild horses in the area.
Today you drive to Africa's Grand Canyon, Fish River Canyon. Here you stay at Fish River Lodge, situated on the western rim of the canyon. Making the most of the beautiful vistas, the Fish River Lodge has been built in harmony with its stark, striking surroundings, and has what we think is the best view of the canyon.
Today you head to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, to Twee Rivieren Rest Camp. You will pitstop here before heading into the park for a few days.
The Rooiputs camping ground is situated some 25km up the Nossob river Valley from Two Rivers entrance gate. The lodge is perched along a vegetated red sand dune, which is distinctive of the Kgalagadi, and boasts extensive panoramic views made up of acacia savannahs and grassy plains.
Today you head to the western gate of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, to Mata Mata Rest Camp.
Today you drive to Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch, a 7,000 hectare reserve which was once farmed and now is home to springbok, gemsbok, giraffe and eland. The red sand dunes in this area are stunning.
Today you will make your way to River Crossing, a lodge situated 15 minutes away from the centre of Windhoek.
Day 18
Today you will be transferred to the airport in good time for your international flight home.
