A 15-night itinerary starting in Livingstone and finishing in Lilongwe. This itinerary has you visit two of Zambia's most famous National Parks; South Luangwa and the Lower Zambezi. Their fame is warranted, the wildlife sightings and general beauty here is out of this world. Also, as Zambia's National Parks are spaced across the country, you have the pleasure of driving across the country, from park to park. What this means is that you see what's in between the parks. The real Africa - not just the tourism experience. You will drive through local towns, villages, communities etc, and see what life is really like for the residents of Zambia. It's an eye-opening and authentic experience, and we feel one of the real pleasures of self-driving.
Arrive in Livingstone where you will be met by a member of our team and taken to Waterberry Lodge. This is a wonderfully friendly and comfortable place to relax at the start of your trip.
Today you set off on your self drive adventure, taking the main Livingstone to Lusaka road and stopping for the night at Moorings.
This morning you head into the beautiful Lower Zambezi National Park, where you will spend three nights campsite on the banks of the river and can game view by boat and canoe.
This morning you head into the beautiful Lower Zambezi National Park, where you will spend two nights at the wonderful Chongwe River Camp.
Depart early as today you drive to Bridge Camp (a 'pit-stop' night) which will break up your drive to the South Luangwa National Park.
Continue up the Great East Road to South Luangwa National Park and the wonderful camp that is Flatdogs.
Enjoy a third and final night here at Flatdogs. Either choosing to do your own game drives or going on guided drives with the excellent guides at Flatdogs.
Today you move to another part of South Luangwa and spend 2 nights at Tena Tena. This beautiful lodge is a great place to relax and offers some of the best guiding in the park.
Today you take you final drive and cross the border into Malawi. You overnight at Kumbali Lodge outside of the city. Here you will be debriefed on your trip and will hand back your vehicle. Or you could make your way back to Lusaka, but this would involve an additional 2 nights.
Today you will be transferred to the airport in good time for your international flight home.
