Coast & Caprivi

Overview

Starting in Windhoek and finishing Livingstone (or in the reverse order), this itinerary allows you to explore Namibia’s Skeleton Coast and Damaraland before heading north to world-renowned Etosha National Park for a few days of superb game viewing. For a complete change of scenery, you then drive east through the Caprivi Strip and finally finish at Zambia’s spectacular Victoria Falls. This trip can be done year round.

Route

Itinerary

Location 1

Olive Grove, Windhoek

Day 1

Arrive in Windhoek where you will be met by a member of our team in Namibia and taken to the Olive Grove Guesthouse. This is a wonderfully friendly and comfortable place to relax after the flight.

Location 2

Desert Breeze, Swakopmund

Day 2 & 3

This morning you drive to the coastal town of Swakopmund where you will stay at the very well run lodge called Desert Breeze. Two nights will give you a full day to take part in some of the activities on offer here.

Spitzkoppe Campsite, Damarland

Day 4

Today you will drive to Spitzkoppe Camp, Southern Damaraland, which we think is one of the most beautiful areas in Namibia, consisting of an imposing granite rock formation set in the plains. Definitely one of our favourites!

Location 4

Mowani Campsite, Damarland

Day 5

Head north into the heart of Damaraland where you will stay at the beautiful campsites that belongs to Mowani.

Etosha Safari Lodge, Etosha National Park

Day 6

This morning you will head for the famous Etosha National Park. You stay at Etosha Safari Lodge.

Onguma Campsite, Etosha National Park

Day 7 & 8

This morning you set off early to enjoy a game drive through the park. You will then exit the park through the Von Lindequist Gate on the eastern side of the park and head for Onguma Reserve which is just minutes from the gate.

Location 7

Hakusembe River Lodge, Rundu

Day 9

Today you will have an early start as you make your way to Hakusembe River Lodge. Here you will spend your first night relaxing on the banks of the Okavango.

Location 8

Nunda Campsite, Caprivi Strip

Day 10

Continue along the Caprivi Strip today and stop at your campsite (nr Divundu) which is right on the river and close to Mahango National Park.

Location 9

Nambwa Campsite, Caprivi Strip

Day 11 & 12

Today you will be heading to a great little campsite. Game regularly wanders through the camp. Just four sites each with a good ablution block.

Location 10

Waterberry Lodge, Livingstone

Day 13 & 14

Today you cross the border into Zambia and continue to the banks of the river Zambezi where you will stay at one our favourite camps, Waterberry Lodge.

Location 11

Depart Zambia

Day 15

You will be transferred to Livingstone airport in good time for your flight home.
